About me
I've always loved science and health and other "nerdy" topics, and I've always loved education. At one time I actually considered becoming a teacher, but ultimately decided on news writer and producer. That way I got to "teach" huge numbers of people by writing and researching—two passions.
For Your Health with Dr. Kim Mulvihill and "Dr. Pam" Moore are examples broadcast features I wrote and produced when I wrote and produced in the San Francisco Bay Area's newsrooms (KRON, KGO, KPIX AND KTVU) during their "golden age." I also researched and wrote scripts for anchors and reporters such as Brian Hackney, Pete Wilson, Dennis Richmond and Dan Ashley. It certainly was an exciting job.
I made the sideways step into advertising, because I saw it as another way to grow as a writer. Working as an agency copywriter, I created campaigns for all manner of clients—everything from tech companies to packaged goods brands. Some of those campaigns helped us win new business, and a few even took off in a big way back before 'going viral' was even a term.
More recently, I've broadened my knowledge further as a consultant and contract copywriter, while helping clients meet their objectives while I get to work with cool people and learn new things.
Incidentally, I use tools like Perplexity, Gemini, Claude and ChatGPT for things like basic research and analyzing SERP intent. But I write everything myself—and I use dashes. Love 'em.
